The InterCulture research group at the University of Ottawa announces From Matrilineal Kinship to Matriculture: Establishing a Canadian Agenda, a four-day workshop which will take place 25 - 28 April 2017 at the University of Ottawa. Registration is free although requested; lunch and snacks will be provided. Funding may be available for travel and accommodation costs.
This will be the first workshop specifically devoted to matricultures in Canada and it is intended to be an introduction to the topic, as well as recent theoretical and ethnographic advances in the field, and to produce practical outcomes which will lead to enhanced policy development and increased research for these societies. Participants will include members of Indigenous matricultural communities and academic researchers.
