Course Sequence - Honours BA With Major in Lettres françaises et education

The integrated Lettres françaises et éducation programs lead to two undergraduate degrees, allowing students to gain a solid foundation in the French language while studying concepts in education. Classroom experiences allow students to quickly connect theory and practice.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES

The Lettres françaises et éducation program at the University of Ottawa leads to an honours bachelor’s degree, which requires the equivalent of five years of university studies and 156 credits.

Language of instruction

The language of instruction is French. Assignments and examinations must be completed in French.

1 The Department recommends FRA2520 for students who struggle with grammar in FRA1746 and FRA1748 (i.e. students with grades below 50% in the language component of the course).

Mandatory major or minor added after first year

Students must add a second program, either a 42-credit major or a 30-credit minor, selected from any of a number of disciplines offered by the Telfer School of Management or by the faculties of Arts, Health Sciences or Social Sciences. The faculties of Science and Engineering also offer many majors and minors requiring 51 to 60 credits. Note that secondary school prerequisite courses may be required for the second program.
