Carol Wainio among 2014 Governor General’s Awards in Visual and Media Arts winners

We are proud to announce that Carol Wainio, Adjunct Professor in the Department of Visual Arts and painter, is being honoured with a Governor General's Award in Visual and Media Arts for her rich, tactile and complex works.

The Governor General’s Awards in Visual and Media Arts were created in 1999 by the Canada Council for the Arts and the Governor General of Canada. The awards celebrate Canada’s vibrant arts community and recognize remarkable careers in the visual and media arts. Wainio’s recognition represents the 10th winner of Governor General's Award associated with the Department of Visual Arts at the University of Ottawa. Congratulations!
