France Martineau Honoured as Distinguished University Professor

The University of Ottawa has bestowed the title of Distinguished University Professor upon Département de Français’ Professor France Martineau. The title is conferred on faculty members in recognition of exceptional scholarly achievement, pre-eminence in a particular field of knowledge and a solid teaching record.

Joining Professor Martineau as recipients of this honour are professors Paul Corkum of the Department of Physics, and Donald McRae of the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section.

Professor Martineau is a world-renowned researcher in her field. A fellow of the Royal Society of Canada since 2011, she heads the Polyphonies laboratory, as well as the largest research project ever undertaken on the evolution of the French language in the Americas.
