6 At least one course in French as a second language (FLS). Students who have completed a music course in French are exempted from the FLS course and may replace it with 3 elective course units.

7 All non-keyboard majors must demonstrate piano proficiency at a Grade VI RCMT-level or pass a proficiency examination set by the School of Music in order to obtain the BMus degree.
