Portuguese is spoken by approximately 240 million people in Portugal and Brazil, in Africa (Angola, Cape Verde Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique and S. Tomé and Príncipe) and in Asia (East Timor, Macao, Goa, etc). Portuguese is also spoken by millions of Portuguese-speaking immigrants in third countries  and it is studied by hundreds of thousands of others throughout the world. Portuguese is the third most spoken European language in the world, the first most spoken in South America, the third most used on the internet,  one of the six most widespread and used on our planet – a language of international communication in expansion. Portuguese is a language of culture, research and trade, an important professional tool, in the European Union, in Mercosul in Latin America, in Africa, or even in Asia. Our courses in the language and cultures of the Portuguese-speaking countries, together with a program of conferences, exhibitions and cinema, organized in cooperation with the embassies of Angola, Brazil and Portugal and the Portuguese Club, provide, in a dynamic and interactive way, the tools to learn, to know and understand the vast, diverse and rich Portuguese-speaking world.
