Leslie Weir, University Librarian at the University of Ottawa has been named the 2015 recipient of the CLA/Ken Haycock Award for Promoting Librarianship. This award has been established in recognition of CLA past‐president Dr. Ken Haycock, distinguished educator, administrator and advocate and honours individuals who have demonstrated exceptional success in enhancing public recognition and appreciation of librarianship.

Of all of her accomplishments, it is the founding of the uOttawa School of Information Studies that is most dear to Ms. Weir. After many years of effort, the School of Information Studies was created, and in spring 2014, received ALA accreditation for the longest period possible, 7 years.
