  1. A Head Technician may be required for Load-in and Strikes/Load-out days, and days that harnesses and scaffolding are required (i.e., lighting hang). Calling a Head Technician is at the discretion of the Technical Director. Head Technicians are not required on show days.
  2. Use of control consoles (Sound and/or lights) implies the hiring of University technicians.
  3. Any ladder or harness work must be performed by qualified personnel, trained in fall arrest.
  4. Strikes must take place the day or evening of the last show. Technicians called for a strike must be paid a minimum call of 4 hours.

Categories are defined by all or most of the following criteria:

Small non-profit:

  • Project funding
  • Less than 2 permanent employees
  • Fundraisers
  • Faculty of Arts
  • Self-produced projects

 

Large non-profit:

  • Season or programming
  • More than 2 permanent employees

 

Festivals and government:

  • Curated festivals
  • Government
