The Sherry Welden Visual Arts store
The Department manages an art supply store. Students and professors should contact the storekeeper, concerning course or student budgets, necessary supplies for a course or other questions about art supplies. The store is located in Room 113 of the 100 Laurier Avenue East.
Material needs vary from studio to studio. At the beginning of the year, professors are to inform students of the policy on their individual course materials and distribution regarding fair distribution, and should specify the material cost the student is expected to pay over and above studio fees.
Studio fees are billed and collected by the University for each studio course. The studio fees charged are approximately $35 per three-credit course. The funds are transferred to the Department's Art Store and credited in full to each student's store account. Students can then obtain artistic materials for their studio courses with these credits. If a student drops a course, the fees are reimbursed either in full or in part, depending on the date the course was dropped.
Workshop lab fees
Laboratory fees are billed and collected by the University for each studio course. The lab fees are $20 per three-credit course. They serve to recover a portion of the expenses made by the Department to provide laboratory access, equipment and art supplies for students. The fees are not refundable.
