Grandmother Pauline Shirt is from Saddle Lake Reserve, Alberta. She is recognized for her commitment to the Toronto Aboriginal community and for her dedication as a teacher and lecturer since the late sixties. A member of the Three Fires Society and the Buff alo Dance Society, she is also a Founder of the First Nations School of Toronto and the Red Willow. Today, Grandmother Pauline serves as a mentor to Aboriginal youth and as a member of various Elder Advisory committees, including for the Ministry of Education and the Attorney General.
