My research fields are located in Cameroon, with the Baka, one of the traditionally nomadic hunter-gatherer societies. My initial research with the Baka of Cameroon is mainly in the field of social anthropology with an analysis of cultural systems and local theories of behavioral ecology. My work with the Baka led me to the field of resilience, the analysis of current processes of affirmation of identity and territorial claims. What I call indigenous "resilience" refers to the dynamics and practices of Baka resistance, accommodation and engagement in their relationships with the state and the majority society.
