Every year, the Premier’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts recognize outstanding achievements by Ontario’s artists and arts organizations.

The Premier’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts are administered by the Ontario Arts Council, an agency of the Government of Ontario, who will review and assess every nomination. Joël Beddows, a professor and director in the Department of Theatre and holder of a Research Chair in Canadian Francophonie, has spent the last 15 years dedicating his artistic efforts to revive Franco-Ontarian theatre.

The 2014 laureates will be announced September 16th, during an awards ceremony at Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto.

Congratulations and best of luck to Joël Beddows!
