24-hour Short Story Contest Winners

Posted on Friday, April 10, 2020

This year's English Department 24-hour Short Story Contest, which ran from March 20th to March 21st, challenged undergraduate students to draft their best short stories under a tight deadline.

After much deliberation, the winner of the $500 prize for first place is Hannah Dolin's “Costumes.” We also awarded two $100 prizes in the honourable mention category: Terra Bromke's “Perfect You” and Finn Postma's “Honest Thought.”

Congratulations to our winners and thank you to all of the amazing writers who participated in this contest. The University of Ottawa is clearly full of creative thinkers and talented wordsmiths, and—as a department—we're excited to read whatever our community produces next!
