Volunteer opportunity - collaboration involving Aboriginal seniors in Ottawa urban communities.

Beginning of March until end of summer (possibly longer)


The Program Manager for the Senior Organic Gardeners program of Canadian Organic Growers will be bringing organic agriculture, community gardens and horticulture therapy to Aboriginal communities such as the seniors’ circle at Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health, and also Odawa Native Friendship Centre, in Ottawa, and are hoping to be serving the community at Shawenjeagamik, 510 Rideau, the Odawa Native Friendship Drop - in Centre. 


 Volunteers will be helping with

- Teachings about organic gardening, and the health benefits of eating organic produce

- Care and maintenance of indoor starter gardens

- Care and maintenance of outdoor gardens
