An MA student amongst the SOCAN Foundation / George Proctor Prize finalists

Elizabeth Fox, a Master of Arts in Music student (Supervisor: Julie Pedneault Deslauriers) and finalist for the SOCAN Foundation / George Proctor Prize, presented a paper entitled “Expansion, Amalgamation, and Mediation: Formal Processes in the Piano Concerto Op. 7 by Clara Wieck Schumann” at the 2014 Canadian University Music Society Annual Meeting.

The SOCAN Foundation / George Proctor Prize is awarded annually for an outstanding paper presented in French or English, by a graduate student, at the annual conference of the Canadian University Music Society (MusCan). Fox, who were competing against two doctoral students, received praise from the jury for the excellence of her paper as well as her strong presentation skills and engagement with the audience.
