Jean-Hee LEE

Biography

Jean-Hee Lee is based in Ottawa, Canada. She teaches at University of Ottawa and SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music.

Jeanie's orchestral experience includes the National Arts Centre Orchestra of Canada,the Royal Danish Orchestra, Odense and Aarhus Symphony Orchestras (Denmark).

Her awards include prizes from WAMSO Young Artist Competition, NTDTV International Violin Competition, Canadian Music Competition, and MTNA Chamber Music Competition.

She has been heard on CBC and NPR Radio, and has performed as a chamber musician at numerous festivals including Banff, Domaine Forget, Norfolk, Schleswig-Holstein, Toronto Summer Music, Sarasota, and Ottawa's Music and Beyond.

Jean-Hee studied at the University of Michigan with Yehonatan Berick, the Cleveland Institute of Music with William Preucil, the Glenn Gould School (Royal Conservatory of Canada) with Mark Fewer, and the University of Ottawa with David Stewart.

In her free time, Jeanie enjoys sewing, knitting, photography, and reading almost anything.
