Summer Academy String Camp

uOttawa Summer String Academy

Dates: August 12-23, 2019

UOttawa Summer String Academy is an intensive 2-week summer string program for violin, viola, cello and double bass students held on the campus of The University of Ottawa’s School of Music, located in the heart of Ottawa - Canada’s capital city. With a focus on developing musicianship in solo and chamber music, university and advanced high school students are encouraged to audition to work with the internationally recognized University of Ottawa faculty.

Each student will receive multiple lessons and masterclasses each week, as well as daily chamber rehearsals and coachings with their assigned group. Individuals will be placed into quartets but preformed string quartets are also encouraged to apply. Students will prepare for multiple performances through rehearsals and masterclasses with one of our collaborative pianist.  With unlimited access to their own designated practice room, students will have open practice time as well as scheduled chamber rehearsals.

An optional yoga class and an unscheduled weekend will provide students with a wonderful opportunity to stay balanced and explore the beautiful city of Ottawa.
