The School of Information Studies was informed of the American Library Association's (ALA) Committee on Accreditation (COA) decision to maintain the accreditation of the Master of Science in Information Studies (M.S.I.) program for seven (7) years. This is the second such decision by the ALA since the school opened in 2009.

The decision also marks the culmination of a rigorous two-year re-accreditation planning process involving senior University and Faculty of Arts officials, as well as current students, faculty and staff. Members of the external community who contributed to the review included the heads of the major libraries in the National Capital Region, co-op employers, and adjunct and part-time faculty, as well as SJHS alumni. The next full review is scheduled for the fall of 2028.
