The University of Ottawa Library has close ties with l'École des sciences de l'information / School of Information Studies (ÉSIS). Leslie Weir, Former University Librarian and other librarians have been cross-pointed at the school; several librarian members have been sessional lecturers or have guest lectured in classes. An impressive number of library employees are completing or have already successfully completed the Master of Information Studies program. In honor of its commitment to the ÉSIS, the Library has created a bursary for a student registered at the School of Information Studies who can demonstrate involvement in extracurricular activities related to the field of information studies.
The applicants must be registered as full-time or part-time students at the School of Information Studies, have Canadian citizenship, permanent-residency or protected-person status, and demonstrate involvement in extracurricular activities related to the field of information studies. The value of the bursary is $2,000.
