Chanda (Legroulx) Gibson, graduate of the Department of Theatre, receives the Dora-Mavor-Moore Award 2017-2018

The Théâtre français de Toronto (TfT) team is proud to announce that its production “Les Zinspirés: Six Degrés de séparation” has been awarded the 2017-2018 Dora-Mavor-Moore "Outstanding Direction" Award, in the category Theater for Young Audiences.

This Dora-Mavor-Moore Award recognizes the outstanding work of Chanda Gibson director of Les Zinspirés for the second year in a row. She will play this role of conductor again in 2018-2019 for the show Les Zinspirés: L’Âge de raison.

This show was the sixth edition of Les Zinspirés writing contest, which invites teens from the Toronto area to create their own tale. The texts are then adapted on stage and interpreted by professional artists.

The TfT would like to congratulate the other artists and craftsmen who contributed to the advent of Les Zinspirées: : Six Degrés de séparation, the young authors Maxime Cardinal, Catalina Lu, Adele Lukusa, Anca Maglaviceanu and Amando Muheto, their dramaturgic advisers, Mélanie Beauchamp, Djennie Laguerre, Marie-Claire Marcotte and Donald Woo, the actors, Constant Bernard, Mathieu Bourassa, Meilie Ng, Mélanie Paiement and Nabil Traboulsi, without forgetting Pierre Simpson, coordinator of the contest.
