A note on the language requirements for admission to the PhD program in translation studies at the School of Translation and Interpretation:
In view of the great diversity of languages that recent applicants to the doctoral program have displayed, the School has proposed that the language requirements for admission to the PhD program henceforth call for proficiency in English and another language, preferably French. This modification is pending approval from the University, and is not yet in force. It will have no effect on the Regulation on Bilingualism at University of Ottawa, which gives every student the right to produce their written work and to answer examination questions in the official language of their choice. For further information on this question, please contact Luise von Flotow, head of graduate studies, or Jean Quirion, director of the School.
